More About Managing Partner Marisa Broggel
My name is Marisa Broggel. I’m proud to be a Seattle native, born and raised in northeast Seattle. I currently live in West Seattle with my pug, Skipper, and enjoy exploring the local parks and hidden creeks that surround my neighborhood. I am fortunate to have a lovely family and a darling niece and nephew to spoil.
I graduated with top honors from Roosevelt High School. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Washington Honors College. After college, I worked as a Premier Licensed Banker at Wells Fargo Bank in Bellevue, where I helped clients with retirement plans, investing, generational wealth transfers, and trusts.
I developed a keen interest in estate planning and trust administration through my work at the bank as well as experiences within my own family, in particular, a close relative who died without a will or health care directives. I know first-hand what it is like for family members to face that situation.
My interests led me to attend law school at Seattle University, where I graduated cum laude with a focus in Estate Planning and Elder Law. Following law school, I worked for five years for the state of Washington, first as an Enforcement Attorney at the Department of Financial Institutions, then as an Assistant Attorney General in the Government Compliance and Enforcement Division.
After leaving state employment, I transferred into private practice to focus on the areas in which I am most passionate: helping clients through the probate process and working with clients on comprehensive tax and estate planning and elder law at McCune, Godfrey, & Emerick, and became a partner in the firm in January 2017. I am proud to be a part of this firm serving generations of families throughout Seattle and surrounding areas since 1945.
